Weesgerus Holiday Resort and Campsite - Relax in Lovely Surroundings

Weesgerus Holiday Resort and Campsite is beautifully located in the Waterberg Mountains, just 3km from Nylstroom. Encircled by verdant bushveld and animal life, Weesgerus Holiday Resort is a wonderful escape from city life and is a fantastic vacation destination for the entire family. Add to the stunning environment a friendly atmosphere and great facilities and you have the makings of an unforgettable camping holiday in South Africa.

South Africa's Weesgerus Holiday Resort was founded during the early 1980s. The concept was formed by the South African Police's Council for the Widows and Orphans Fund as an inexpensive holiday destination for members of the police. It was also established to as a long-term investment for the fund. On 22 November 1988, the resort officially opened its doors. Within and surrounding the resort is lovely natural scenery with some 40 tree species giving homes to around 50 bird species. A 3 km hiking trail guides you through the impressive landscape and past antelope such as Impala and Blesbuck.

The camping/caravanning site of Weesgerus Holiday Resort has 155 well-equipped stands, all provided with electricity. Brilliant ablution facilities ensure that visitors have all the necessary conveniences whilst camping. Aside from the lovely hiking trail, Weesgerus Holiday Resort and Campsite offers a variety of fun-filled activities for the whole family. Go for a dip in one of the 3 outdoor or 2 heated pools on offer. The water-slide will keep the children occupied for ages whilst parents catch a tan beside the glistening pool. Other fun activities include miniature golf, volleyball, tennis and South African jukskei. After a day of fun in the sun, campers can enjoy a sumptuous meal at the restaurant. Alternatively you can enjoy a pub lunch at the lapa overlooking the dam. Weesgerus' shop has all the necessary groceries to ensure you have a comfortable stay.

Aside from camping sites, Weesgerus Holiday Resort has several other accommodation options: Self-catering chalets, a guest house and guest rooms. However, camping fans will not want to miss the opportunity to camp at the well-maintained campsites and get to know their fellow campers in this friendly environment.
