Bloemfontein Airport

As the capital city of the Free State Province and the judicial capital of South Africa, the dynamic city of Bloemfontein is home to world-class educational institutions and established industries, as well as lying in the heart of fertile farming area. With its strategic position near the geographical center of the country, a number of main transport routes pass through the city, and Bloemfontein Airport plays an important role in business travel, cargo shipping and tourism. During the 2006/2007 financial year, Bloemfontein catered for more than 350,000 passengers as well as handling considerable volumes of cargo.

Bloemfontein Airport has excellent facilities, including VIP and executive lounges, restaurants, car hire, refreshment kiosks, ATMs and information services. The airport's runways and state-of-the-art communication equipment are shared by the Bloemspruit Air Force Base located south-east of the runways. As one of the host cities for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Bloemfontein is focusing on ensuring that its airport will be ready to meet the needs of the increased volume of passengers that will be arriving and departing through its doors.
