Durban International Airport

KwaZulu-Natal's Durban is certainly one of the most popular tourist destinations for both locals and international visitors. Located just 16km from Durban central, Durban International Airport is convenient to reach and has all the necessary conveniences for travelers. Each year Durban International deals with some 2.5 million travelers, amongst whom are well-known dignitaries and delegates attending massive international events here. In recent years, Durban International's terminal has received a face-lift as have its parking facilities. All these upgrades are aimed at making your experience at the airport that much more pleasurable and easy. Domestic flights run between South Africa's cities regularly. Several international airlines also land and take-off from here, among them are British Airways, Swazi Express, Air Mauritius and Singapore Airlines. The majority of intercontinental flights are handled by Cape Town International and Johannesburg's OR Tambo Airport.

ACSA (Airports Company South Africa) has an Information Center in the airport. A Mr. Info touch screen and the Teleguide hotel board are found in Arrivals. The KwaZulu-Natal Tourism Authority has also set-up a tourist information office in Domestic Arrivals. In the banking hall you will find ATMs as well as a bureau de change. The tourism information office has facilities for Internet and faxes. Public telephones are scattered all through Durban International. Business men and women can make use of the ACSA VIP Lounge with Conference facility. Disabled individuals can take advantage of airport amenities such as ramps, lifts, special toilets, reserved parking and wheelchairs. If you are feeling hungry or thirsty there are plenty of options at Durban Airport. Try out these great restaurants: Spur, Panarotti's and House of Coffees. If you need a bit of retail therapy there are several stores including curio shops, a florist, book store, music store, candy shop and more. There is plenty of transportation between Durban International Airport and other parts of the city. These include taxis, shuttles and coaches. Durban International certainly has all that is necessary to keep travelers comfortable and happy.
