Port Elizabeth Art Galleries - Treasuring Art and Culture

Port Elizabeth is not only a picturesque coastal city with exciting attractions and thrilling activities, but a city that treasures art and culture. With four major art galleries to explore, visitors will be able to discover a world of beauty, through the eyes and imaginations of well known artists. Within the walls of the Epsac Art Gallery, King George VI Art Gallery, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum and the Ron Belling Art Gallery; beauty, inspiration and freedom await.

The Epsac Art Gallery has a diverse range of art work to marvel at, while the King George VI Art Gallery is home to historical masterpieces that were created in the Eastern Cape and also includes a Gerard Sekoto collection. The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum has a permanent collection of art, but does host temporary exhibitions as well. Here visitors will find Chinese textiles, oriental art, local art, British art and a variety of other artistic wonders. The Ron Belling Art Gallery was created as a tribute to Ron Belling, and his magnificent aviation masterpieces can be viewed here. The art galleries in Port Elizabeth offer a diverse range of art and fascinating exhibitions.
