With its mishmash of cultures, Johannesburg has a vibrant social network that never stops. Nightclubs in Johannesburg stay open into the small hours of the morning, and while the legal drinking age in the country is 18, some clubs impose a 21 or 25 age restriction. Most clubs have a cover charge, especially when there is a live band playing and with South Africa continuing to turn out amazing musical talent, your chances of hearing the next best thing at one of Johannesburg's bars and clubs is pretty good.

I agree that Joburg nigh life is the best but unfortunately as far as the transport is concerned we need to work a lot harder to get it on par with the rest of the world. I've been to Barcelona in Spain a few years ago and we partied until dawn and when it's time to go home there is always transport available even at 3 in the morning. If you miss the one train you could be assured of another one ariving in less then 30 minutes.

I think that joburg night life is great however the transportation system is still in a mess which makes partying to the wee hours of the morning kind of difficult especially if you have had more than one. and no sober person wants to party till the wee hours of the morning to drive the not-so sober people home !! WE NEED MORE TRANSPORT
