Kidds Beach - Birding Paradise and Picturesque Village

The picturesque coastal village of Kidds Beach located around 30 kilometers from East London in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa is an ideal getaway for holidaymakers who feel the need to have a complete break from the frantic pace of everyday life and enjoy the beauty of nature in an unspoiled setting. As the name would suggest, the beautiful white sandy beach is the main attraction of this friendly town, with the waves attracting surfers and the tidal pool keeping families with little ones happy.

Birding enthusiasts will be pleasantly surprised at the number and variety of birds to be found in the surrounding hills which are generously covered with indigenous flora. With the Mcantsi River emptying itself into the lagoon at Kidds Beach, fishing opportunities abound and this is a popular spot for keen anglers. An added attraction of Kidds Beach from May through to August is that whales can be spotted offshore. Between May and July dolphins, game fish, sharks and an assortment of birds follow the annual sardine run, an event that generates loads of excitement among locals and visitors alike as they catch the little silvery fish that wash up on the shore.

Kidds Beach offers all the basic necessities for an enjoyable holiday, along with seemingly endless days of peace and tranquility in beautiful surroundings. Why not visit this Eastern Cape treasure?
