Durban's fantastic Golden Mile encompasses a number of beaches including Dairy Beach, Wedge, Battery Beach, the Bay of Plenty, Addington Beach and North Beach. The well-known 6 km Golden Mile is also home to a number of Durban's attractions such as the Snake Park, the Sunken Gardens, Mini-town, Sea World, Funworld and more. Dairy Beach's attractions include the Ocean Action Center and Timewarp Museum. Timewarp Surfing Museum is the only museum dedicated to the sport of surfing in South Africa. Located within Dairy Beach's Ocean Sports Center, the museum attracts locals as well as foreign tourists who have enjoyed this fascinating experience. Timewarp Surfing Museum guides visitors through the history of surfing both in South Africa and around the world. With memorabilia, sketches, artifacts, surfcraft and photographs, the museum gives insight into this thrilling sport. So extensive is their collection that it includes 1927 bellyboards and canvas surfboards of 1938.

Dairy Beach truly offers an all-round day at the beach adventure. Spend the day soaking up the sun on the lovely beach. Stroll along the Golden Mile and discover a variety of side-walk curios sold by Durban's locals. Hop aboard one of the rickshaws for a fun ride along the beachfront. A great family beach, be sure to bring along your frisbee or ball and rackets. The waves are great fun, even for those who do not surf. You will make excellent use of your body board in the warm Indian Ocean waters. The beach is under the watchful eyes of well-trained life-guards, so you can play in the sea with confidence. Keen surfers will not want to miss the impressive waves of Dairy Beach and the nearby New Pier Beach. Surf the very same waters as the pros who compete in the Mr. Price Pro. When vacationing along Durban's Golden Mile be sure to spend a day or two at lovely Dairy Beach.
