Big Bay Beach - Superb View Point of Table Mountain and Robben Island

With superb views of both Table Mountain and Robben Island, Big Bay Beach near Blouberg in Table Bay is a stretch of soft white sand with two rocky points stretching out into the sea creating a small bay. Despite the somewhat chilly water of the Atlantic Ocean, Big Bay Beach is a popular spot for surfing, wind-surfing, kite-surfing and swimming, offering visitors the safety factor of a lifeguard station and the convenience of a café and other facilities.

To the left of Big Bay Beach is Blouberg Beach and to the right there is a wide open stretch of sand, ideal for long leisurely strolls on the beach, particularly during Cape Town's long summer days. There is plenty of accommodation to suit all budgets at Big Bay Beach, and with easy access to the many attractions of Cape Town, as well as the renowned Wine Routes of the Western Cape, Big Bay Beach is an excellent choice as a base from which to explore the surrounding areas.
