Just outside Worcester, and approximately a hundred and twenty kilometers from Cape Town, lies one of the best water-wise gardens in South Africa and the only actual succulent garden to be found in Africa. The Karoo National Botanical Garden was first established in 1921 and was located near Matjiesfontein, but to make the garden more accessible to visitors and tourists, the garden was moved to its current location in 1945. Today, the Karoo National Botanical Garden is the gem of South Africa, and allows visitors to get close to some of the most exquisite and colorful plants found in the drier, arid parts of the country.

Anton Van Wouw was a renowned Dutch-born sculptor who spent most of his adult life in South Africa. The Van Wouw Museum in Pretoria, which was his last residence and also his studio, houses superb examples of his sculptures and other artworks, as well as documents and photographs relating to his fascinating life.

The African Dawn Sanctuary was once a cattle farm owned by the Hickman family. They opened up a small sanctuary on the land to accommodate a few wildlife species that had been brought to them in need of care. Through their love for animals, and their inability to turn animals away, the sanctuary started to grow until it became the African Dawn Sanctuary. Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes between Port Elizabeth and Jeffreys Bay, the African Dawn Sanctuary welcomes visitors to explore the reserve and meet their animals.

Meerkats are fascinating little animals that are highly entertaining to watch.
