Every year hundreds of people flock to the small little town of Bathurst, situated just a few
kilometers away from Port Alfred, for the annual Bathurst Show. This year the 98th Bathurst Show
will be taking place on the Bathurst Showgrounds from the 7th to the 9th of April 2006. The show is
one of the oldest surviving agricultural shows in South Africa and over the years has gained a reputation
for being one of the province's premier agricultural shows.

The Klein Karoo Nationale Kunstefees (KKNK) has been running annually for twelve consecutive years.
Slowly growing in popularity and size, the festival takes place in the charming Klein Karoo town of
Outdshoorn. The festival is primarily an Afrikaans culture festival, but there are a number of English
events which make their way onto the program each year.

South Africa will once again be presenting the annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival on
Friday 31 March and Saturday 1 April 2006. Held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre
this prestigious Jazz festival attracts people from around the world. The 7th annual Cape Town
International Jazz Festivals will feature a line-up of 40 A-grade jazz and jazz-related artists,
both African and International.

If you're going to be in Cape Town on the 29th of March, why not head down to the V&A Waterfront
and treat yourself and loved ones to one of the most spectacular firework displays you will ever see.
The Symphony of Fire is the largest event of this nature on the African continent and is the first in a
series of displays where fireworks display companies will battle it out to see who is regarded as the better
of the lot. The three teams from South Africa, Spain and Canada will each put on an amazing display of fireworks
which will be choreographed to music and last approximately 25 minutes.

The long awaited Coca Cola Colab Massive Mix Concert has Many South Africans buzzing. For
the first time ever in South Africa, Coca-Cola, Big Concerts and 5Fm have joined forces to
present the biggest international music festival that the country has ever seen. The twelve-hour
world-class event will be showcasing some of the best in both international and local talent. It is
earmarked as THE event for 2006.

The St Petersburg Ballet Company will begin their first tour of South Africa on 16 March
2006 with their fabulous production of the ballet classic Swan Lake. The company consists of
55 principals, soloists and full corps de ballet who will perform the full length production.
The St Petersburg Ballet Company will be following the original choreography by Lev Ivanov and
Marius Petipa and has received excellent praise the world over. Gorgeous settings and lavish
costumes have been brought all the way form St Petersburg. Music for Swan Lake will be provided by
the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Alexander Kantorov.

The Great Moscow Circus is returning to South Africa for a once in a life time tour of the
country. The event will be sponsored by the Southern Sun Hotel group which was the official
accommodation for the Great Moscow Circus for the duration of their last stay in 2004/2005.
Returning to perform under the great South African skies, this dynamic team of performer will
thrill and wow audiences yet again.
