Activities Galore at Magalies Park

If you’re looking for a great new place to spend time with the family whilst surrounded by the beauty and tranquillity of nature, look no further than Magalies Park. This prime destination is situated at the foot of the Magaliesberg Mountains and it combines the best of nature with the best of leisure activities and accommodation.

Magalies Park and Country Club is located in a declared bird sanctuary that is located on the banks of the renowned and pristine Hartebeespoort Dam. The park is currently seen as one of South Africa’s Premier Timeshare and Golfing Estates and is the perfect place to spend a holiday with the family. The park has plenty of great activities for the whole family to enjoy. Adults and children can play tennis on the numerous tennis courts (including 2 children’s courts) or enjoy a somewhat more action-packed game of squash. There are three swimming pools to lounge in, including one heated pool, as well as a plunge pool and two baby pools. The nearby river is made full use of, with paddle boats, rowing boats and canoes available for hire. River cruises provide the perfect way to end a day if you try to arrange a sundowner cruise. Pool tables are great for a quiet night with friends, while mini golf is the perfect challenge for family members competing against each other. Other great activities offered at Magalies Park include volleyball, darts, table tennis, giant chess, mountain biking, jogging and bird watching. Supervised children’s entertainment is available for parents looking for a break from their little ones, while a children’s playground is available for parents who prefer a more hands-on approach. Families can also enjoy nature walks in the lovely natural areas surrounding the chalets and lodges and there are a number of organised sporting and leisure activities to choose from.

Golf lovers will certainly find that the biggest appeal of Magalies Park is the SAGU Rated 18-hole championship golf course. The course was designed by Loutjie van Aswegen and has a course rating of 72 for men and 70 for ladies. The short, but challenging, golf course regularly hosts golfing events and provides a bit of a challenge for even more experienced golfers. There is a pro shop at the clubhouse where you can see to all your golfing needs and lessons are available on request for those that are still new to the game. After a great day on the greens, the Barn Owl Halfway House, the Loeries Flight takeaways and the Albatross Halfway House provide the perfect place to take in a light meal and replenish your energy. So make the most of this superb holiday destination and visit Magalies Park for your next family holiday!
