Arts and Culture Explosion at Innibos 2008

To experience one of the most explosive arts and culture festivals in South Africa, visitors and locals are recommended to join the fun and activities of Innibos 2008. This magnificent combination of art forms takes place in various locations in and around Nelspruit and boasts an artistic line up like no other. To add to the long list of South African artists and musicians, Innibos 2008 is proud to present the world famous band Boney M as their special guest performance at the Standard Bank stage.

Thousands of fans have many special memories connected to number one hits such as Daddy Cool, The Rivers of Babylon and Ma Baker, and will be able to relive special times with the band at their performance on the 28th of June 2008. South African artists such as Patricia Lewis, Steve Hofmeyer and Eden, will be sharing the stage with this legendary group. This performance alone is enough to convince anyone to attend the Innibos 2008, but organizers have invited so many big names in South Africa and selected such a diverse range of activities that festival goers will have a difficult time choosing between events.

In the selection of musical performances, classical lovers will be treated to a magnificent show called Classical Notes in the Garden. Taking place in the Lowveld Botanical Garden, the beauty of the garden will be enhanced by spellbinding performances from musicians and artists such as the Soweto String Quartet, Louis Loock, Theo Magongoma, Kevin Leo and the Voices, Charl Heyningen, Chris Harper and Rory Rootenberg. Other musicians, singers and groups include Karen Zoid, Murray Lubbe, Andre Schwartz, Ricus Nel, Nianell, Chris Chamelion, Wessel Beukes, Wouter Kellerman, Lizelle Botes, Laurika Rauch, Jannie Moolman, Mathys Roets, Robbie Wessels, Koos Kombuis, Coenie de Villiers, Jacques Rautenbach and many others.

The music theatre presentations bring actors and performers such as Die Grafsteensangers, Jannie du Toit, Mariette Galjaard, Jak de Preister, Christiaan Rabie, Chris Voster, Diaan Lawrenson and Riaan Diedericks to the stage. Plays starring household names such as Frank Opperman, Shaleen Surtie-Richards, Joanie Combrink, Henrietta Gryffenberg and Pierre Breytenbach are included in the festival line up, as is story telling with Barend Spies, Ollie Viljoen, Arina de Wit and PG de Plessis. Other activities to look forward to is the film festival, gospel concert, visual arts displays, exhibitions, books and revises, community theatre and youth theatre performances. Children will also find endless fun in the school hall, which is filled with excitement and entertainment for the young festival goers.

The launch of the InniBos Recipe Book, filled with personal favorites of some of the celebrities in South Africa, will also take place during the festival. Head to Nelspruit and enjoy the vibrant and colorful array of performances that take place between the 25th and the 29th of June 2008.
