Enjoy a day of Olive and Wine Tasting

Just outside Cape Town, in South Africa, amongst the rolling green landscapes of vineyards and citrus farms, lies the picturesque Morgenster Wine Estate. Here is where four men and their staff work tirelessly to fulfill their dreams of remaining one of the best wine and olive oil product producers in South Africa. Morgenster Wine Estate has become a leader in its field. With owner Guilio Bertrand at the helm, and Pierre Lurton, Marius Lategan and Gerrie Duvenhage joining forces, it is a wine estate that will continue satisfying taste buds locally and around the world.

Morgenster Wine Estate was named by Jacques Malan after he bought the land which once formed part of Willem Adriaan van der Stel’s estate, Vergelegen. The farm was handed down through the generations, and by the time Guilio Bertrand purchased Morgenster in 1992 it was in need of renovation and care. With the help of Revel Fox, a well known architect, Bertrand began to restore the three hundred year old buildings to their former glory.

Over and above the breathtaking wine cellar and captivating rows of olive trees, the vineyard is blanketed with different red grapes, including Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Oenologist Pierre Lurton, and wine maker and Oenologist Marius Lategan are responsible for producing the top quality wines that have skyrocketed Morgenster Wine Estate to fame, with two of their wine labels being exported to markets such as Europe, the United Kingdom, Singapore and North America

Another unique feature of the Morgenster Wine Estate is its production of award winning olive products. Gerrie Duvenhage has seen to it that products such as Olive Paste, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, White Truffle Olive Oil, Lemon Enhanced Olive Oil and black and green table olives have become sought after products and the farm has also been awarded the L’Orciolo d’Oro Award for the ninth time this year.

Visitors are invited to join the staff of the Morgenster Wine Estate for a wonderful day of wine and olive product tasting and tours of the farm and its facilities. As one of the most outstanding wine estates in South Africa, visitors will find quality, tranquility and beauty amongst the landscapes of the Cape.
