The Centre for Creative Arts was established in 1996 by the Development and Social Sciences department of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Their main objective is to create opportunities for artists, and to build creative bonds and relationships between the various art forms, such as music, poetry, dancing, filmmaking, art. The Cape Town World Cinema Festival is hosted by an organization called Sithengi. This organization was founded in 1995 and is based in Cape Town. Sithengi is dedicated to the promotion and support of the African Film Industry. They are the Cape Town World Cinema Festival and the Sithengi Film and Television Market.

The FNB Dance Umbrella Festival is an annual event which has been hosted in South Africa since back in 1989. In 2007 it will be running from 17 February to 17 March. This thrilling month-long event is a marvelous showcase of South African contemporary dance and unique choreography. This platform is made available to community and youth groups. Not only do fine South African performers enjoy the lime-light, but they are joined by foreign dance companies. Chief objectives for the Dance Umbrella's Forum are to establish a space for new work and the development of South African contemporary dance.

Every year hundreds of thousands of people converge on the small university city of Grahamstown for
the countries biggest annual celebrations of the arts. The Grahamstown National Arts Festival runs from
the end of June to the beginning of July for between 8 to 10 days and is the most important event on the
South African cultural calendar. Situated roughly 130 km from Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape, people
come from all corners of the globe to participate in and to enjoy the festival.

South Africa will once again be presenting the annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival on
Friday 31 March and Saturday 1 April 2006. Held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre
this prestigious Jazz festival attracts people from around the world. The 7th annual Cape Town
International Jazz Festivals will feature a line-up of 40 A-grade jazz and jazz-related artists,
both African and International.
