The Peoples Celebration Concert

As if all the other great concerts lined up for 2006 weren't already enough, South African's will also be able to enjoy The Peoples Celebration Concert. The concert has a strong focus on Hip Hop and R&B music and will feature both national and international artists at three amazing, jam-packed venues around the country.

The Peoples Celebration Concert has been brought about by Premier Foods, Metro FM, 5FM, Good Hope FM, Big Concerts and SABC 1 and with that kind of backing you can be sure it'll be a once in a lifetime event. The Concert is being held in celebration of Premier Foods new status as the biggest 100% Black-owned company in the country. This is a huge milestone for the country and they are giving back to the people who have helped make them who they are today.

The concert will see some of the most talented men in the Hip Hop and R&B music industries come to South Africa to perform. The line-up of international artists includes Pharrel Williams, Snoop Dogg, Sean Pail, Mario, Caribbean Queen and Rihanna. The concert will also be a great opportunity for some of the top local artists that South Africa has to offer. The Concert kicks off on the 27th of April in Johannesburg and ends on the 1st of May in Cape Town. The ten-hour world-class event will be filmed by SABC 1 and broadcast to 23 million homes across the country. While ticket prices will be quite high, there will be R200 000 worth of Free tickets available as well as the chance to win R100 000 in cash at each concert. Bookings can be made at Computicket.
