Hi Kim...I made contact through SA Narcotics Annonymous and received email from a recovery program, Teritary Care Center, in Greyton. Please continue to resarch for me of any programs in major urban areas that would be similar to Chicago. Thanks..Tom

Hi Kim when I put these websites into AOL I get " this page cannot be found." Do you live in major city in SA? Are there any "non-for-profit" health care programs that provide such services, similiar to what we have, or large hospitals that have inpatient & out patient programs? or churchs? thanks...Tom.

Thanks Kim, I'm financially OK.I am working at a non for profit agency in Chicago where the pay is not competitive with corporate America. Basically I want to get experience, learn and share my background. I don't know how long I would stay, 6 months? Thanks for your help Kim..

I'm sure many could benefit from your experience. You probably wouldn't receive much pay, so it would be advisable to have some money in the bank. I would reccommend contacting a number of South African organisations and finding out if there are any positions available.

I am interested in employment or volunteering as a addictions counselor in a hospital, community health program or rehab program. I am a certified addictions counselor and compulsive gambling counselor. I have 30 years experience. Currently addictions conselor at Healthcare Alternative Systems in Chicago, Il 1-773-252-3100x151. Part time, Monday & Wednesday. I have a passport and $ for air fare.I have good training skills and HIV-AIDS counseling background. I would need a place to stay. I am retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections after 27 years as a parole officer in the Community Drug Intervention Program. I have a excellent professional work record and can fax or submit my resume, certificates and references. I have been at H.A.S 6.5 years and would like to get out of the USA and use my skills in a urban environment in SA where, like Chicago, there are similar health issues of addictions, and HIV-AIDS. I am in excellent health. 6' 175 lbs. Pilates student for 6yrs.
