Scenic Flights from Plettenberg Bay to Knysna Heads

If you are short on time but want to see as much of sunny South Africa as you can, a scenic flight day trip is an absolute must. There are a few charter flight companies in South Africa which offer day trips between some of the country’s top destinations and choosing to fly instead of drive will give you the opportunity to cover a large area in a relatively short period of time. One of the best options is a scenic flight over Plettenberg Bay to the Knysna Heads. This relatively short trip is incredibly scenic and provides passengers with a bird's eye view of some of the Garden Route's most scenic coastline.

However, you don’t have to keep to the coast with this sort of day trip option. If you want to see a bit of wildlife, you might opt for a day excursion to the renowned Shamwari Game Reserve – a malaria-free and luxurious game-viewing destination. Shamwari’s private airfield allows visitors the opportunity to disembark for a period and enjoy the wonders of nature before boarding their plane again and heading home. Another great place to take a day-trip to is Oudtshoorn – the main town in the Klein Karoo. This semi-arid dessert-like part of the country would take hours to reach by car and this is often a deterrent to travelers who have limited time to spend traveling. If you choose a fly-in option you can reach the town in a matter of minutes – depending on your point of departure of course – and spend the day exploring the beauty of the Cango Caves and have some fun on the ostrich farms before being whisked back home.

The thing about choosing to fly instead of traveling by road is that it allows you to see some of the country’s amazing wildlife that would usually be barely visible from land. Taking a flight over the Plettenberg Bay coastline affords you the chance to see the whales who visit these shores once a year. It also grants you the opportunity to see the beauty of the Tsitsikamma Mountains from above. When possible, your pilot may choose to fly a glider or other low-noise aircraft over a game-filled area where you can see rhino, elephants and other big game with comparative ease. So don’t hesitate a second longer. Find a charter and start making your flying safari plans today.
