Welcome to the Magaliesberg! GoVertical Backpackers is situated close enough to Johannesburg -Gauteng for all things ‘city’, but fortunately tucked, far enough away at the foot of the ancient Magaliesberg mountains so that you can relax, unwind from the rigours of travel and savour the magic of the country.
Aside from tranquillity and spectacular mountain views, a swimming pool to wallow in and a pub to soak up rural South African life, we have adventures, hiking trails, guided cultural and historical tours. Pop out to Hartebeespoort Dam, explore the Cradle of Humankind or check out the pastoral scenery from the air. We’ve got plenty to keep you busy.
The beautiful farm house is the centre of attention; this historical monument set in immaculate gardens, houses the reception, accommodation, gift & gear shop and has an awesome wrap around veranda, perfect for knocking back sundowners.

THE RUWENZORI ROOMS
In the grand old farm house we have spacious rooms with a Double bed & additional single beds in each room.
Linen is included.
You have access to a communal bathroom & a full kitchen, in case you want to cook.
Price per person sharing per night R 130,00
And if you want to sleep all by your lonesome R 190.00 per person
MOUNTAIN HUT DORMS
Each mountain hut has a sheltered boma & braai area a.k.a. BBQ area with grids & rustic seats, you’re welcome to grill your own grub if you don’t feel like eating at restaurant, you also have use of a shared kitchenette: fridge, gas plate, kettle, pots
The dorms have bunk beds & mattresses, bring your own linen or sleeping bag

Kibo sleeps 8 people, Batian sleeps 10 & Nelion sleeps 8 people
CAMPING
If you like it wild, pitch your tent on our lawns for R 50.00 per person.
