ACCOMMODATION:

Jatinga offers guests 20 individually furnished rooms - 4 Luxury Suites and 16 Superior Rooms – that are clustered around the main building, that dates back to the 1920’s.

Our six new rooms, opened in September last year, continue to delight our guests. Four of the rooms have a view over our citrus orchard which, although still in its infancy, is most pleasing to the eye with young lemon, lime, grapefruit, clementine, orange, kumquat and Minneola trees all putting on a promising display. The remaining two Forest rooms look into the mini forest of pine trees – a quiet, mossy calming atmosphere where monkeys often frolic.

The other rooms and suites at the Lodge are decorated in different styles including Victorian, Colonial, Provencal, French Country, African Colonial and English Country styles. Each room offers our guests a unique experience – be it ½ ton concrete baths to double-sided open fire places - ensuring that they take away a special Jatinga memory.

DINING:

Jatinga has a reputation for fine dining and our menu will satisfy even the most discerning diner. The extensive a la carte menu at the lodge offers guests a wide variety of dishes including local venison, speciality duck, vegetarian dishes and decadent desserts all of which can be enjoyed in our stylish dining room, intimate wine cellar or outdoors on the flagstones. From house specialities like Crab Curry, Deboned Oxtail or Crispy Duck with Chocolate & Chilli sauce guests can be assured of a superb culinary experience during their stay at Jatinga.

Gourmet Jatinga Picnic Hampers can be ordered to be enjoyed during a day trip to the Kruger National Park or the Panorama route or even down at the river. And, in keeping with the colonial style, a traditional High Tea is served on request which includes cucumber sandwiches and homemade scones with farm fresh cream. The cellar at Jatinga is stocked with an extensive and impressive array of wines with some 600 bottles of red wine to choose from, including selected special reserves.

FACILITIES:

Spend a lazy day at the pool soaking up the warm Lowveld sun, after all, you are in the “land of the rising sun”, Mpumalanga! Take some time out to catch up on your reading or do a spot of bird watching (close to 300 species have been identified at the lodge) on our elevated wooden deck overlooking the White River. A full bird list is available from reception and binoculars can also be loaned from reception.

BANQUETING & CONFERENCE FACILITIES:

The lodge has a banqueting room that is ideal for functions and conferences. Located a short distance from the lodge’s main building, the banqueting room can comfortably seat 75 conference delegates schoolroom style and 90 delegates when set in cinema style seating. The room is air conditioned.

WEDDINGS AT JATINGA COUNTRY LODGE:

Chapel and Minister: Our quaint, open-sided chapel, is set with our standard candles and décor. We can put you in touch with an inter-denominational minister in the area.

Pre-Reception Snacks and Drinks: A selection of pre-reception snacks and drinks can be served on our elevated wooden deck overlooking the river.

Reception Venue: A marquee can be set up in the gardens for a larger reception or, we can accommodate your reception on our covered colonial-style veranda, on our outdoor flagstone patio or on our elevated wooden deck overlooking the river. An evening wedding lends itself well to a candlelight dinner in our banqueting room. The room has fold-away doors along the length of one wall that open up onto a private garden with a Pecan nut orchard in the distance. Brazziers placed in the garden create a romantic ambience. This room can accommodate up to 120 guests.
Menu, Bar and Beverages: Our wedding menus range in price depending on your requirements and vegetarian meals can be arranged on request. We have an extensive wine list that includes excellent estate wines, fine local sparkling wines and imported champagnes.

Wedding Cake: A wedding cake is a very personal decision however we can assist you with a Croquembouche, a truffle cake or other non-traditional options.

Flowers: Flowers are also a very personal requirement and a one-on-one meeting with our florist can be scheduled for you to discuss all your requirements, candles, colours, preferences.
Additional Services: Hairdressers and beauty treatments can be arranged with local therapists. We make use of several professional photographer who will take photographs as per your requirements.
