Description:
Meschac Gaba, now based in the Netherlands, is an inventive artist to say the least and certainly not your usual art gallery experience as you wonder through sculptures such as the Sentec Tower in Jo’burg to the Voortrekker Monument, iconic buildings in their own rights. Its not long before you enter Meschac’s game room where you will find a selection of puzzles arranged on a variety of tables throughout the room, once solved you will find an array of different flags.
Meschac Gaba uses a variety of interesting mediums such as wire, hair and the traditional hair braiding techniques of West Africa to create is unique art pieces which have become so well known.
