Roses have appealed to people through times past and this is no exception at the Bedford Garden Festival, which also looks into several privately owned gardens that have outdone themselves in presentation. So from roses to a variety of other stunning plants, green fingered gardeners and those who simply take great joy in natural beauty will be able to experience something unique.

There really is so much to take in and do at the Bedford Garden Festival, from exquisite gardens to a traditional country fair influenced by the French and the English in a purely South African setting.

Some things to look out for in the beautiful gardens will be a wonderful display of secretive walkways to formal gardens, herb gardens, water features, day lilies to gazebos and herbaceous borders, including of course the secret ingredient, both old and heritage roses.

The Country Fair is a superb treat while perusing the many features of the garden festival. Its here that you can fine a variety of gifts, from homemade goods to arts and crafts to jewellery. There is also an amazing array of sumptuous delights such as local cheeses, cakes, preserves, olives as well as glorious lavender products to stash away and treat yourself with.

Of course this is not all, as throughout the day you will be able to acquire a variety of refreshments such as traditional potjie, braaied meat, a glass of your favourite wine or beer.

For the golfers amongst the attendees, why not enter into the Bedford Golf Challenge. The young ones will find great pleasure in the playground area, with many treats!
