Bastille Day is a French National Holiday commemorating the historic storming of the Bastille during the reign of Louis XVI. As the French enclave of South Africa, Franschhoek will be honoring its forefathers with a distinctively French flair on the weekend of 17&18 July 2010.
With buildings in the town draped in red, white and blue, and superb French cuisine and wine being the order of the day, other events include a French Film Festival, the Barrel Rolling competition and the Chefs and Waiters Race. So don your beret and head for Franschhoek on 14 July 2010, for an unforgettable French experience in the heart of the Cape Winelands. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
