If you’ve already run the Old Mutual’s Two Oceans then I’m sure your all warmed up and eager to run the Comrades Marathon happening on the 15th June, so make sure you’ve got your entry in by the 5th of May 2008!
Description:
This amazing and world renowned race was first brought about by Vic Clapham, a First World War Veteran, with the first Comrades marathon taking place in 1921.
This 89km or 56 mile ‘up run’ begins in Kwazulu Natal and ends in Pietermaritzburg, allowing you 12 hours to accomplish this challenge, which can only make you feel that much closer to those around you. This is no easy task and much preparation is required if you are to succeed, however, reaching the finish line will leave you with an immense feeling of satisfaction in your amazing accomplishment.
Many spectators gather all along the route of the Comrades Marathon so as to cheer the runners on. So, even if you can’t join the runners, you can still participate in the Comrades spirit.
