On the Day of Reconciliation hundreds of triathlon athletes will be putting their Jailbreak skills to the test in a gruelling day of endurance.
Athletes are able to choose between a Maximum Security prison escape and a Standard Security escape. Both categories consist of three legs, which are swimming, cycling and running. It is known as the premier endurance triathlon in Cape Town, and athletes prepare all year to enter the Jailbreak Triathlon.
All registrations for the Jailbreak Triathlon must be in before 15 December 2007 as a late entry will be penalised by a R150 fee. Athletes must attend the briefing meeting at the prison at 13h00 on 15 December 2007.
Maximum Security Jailbreak
2.2 Kilometre swim – Starting 06:30 – Cut off time 08h00
100 Kilometre cycle – Cut off time 13h30
25 Kilometre run – Cut off and finish 16h30
Standard Security Jailbreak
1.1 Kilometre swim – Starting 07h30 – Cut off time 08h30
50 Kilometre cycle – Cut off time 12h00
12.5 Kilometre run – Cut off and finish 13h30
