If you’re a fan of Roald Dahl, then this is definitely something you will want to take note of. This is a wonderful adaptation of the controversial children’s story ‘James and the Giant Peach’.

Description:

Many of us know the bizarre story of ‘James and the Giant Peach’. James is orphaned at the age of four when his parents are sadly eaten by a rhino. To make things all the more worse, little James Trotter is sent to his sadistic and cruel maiden aunts who go by the names of Spiker and Sponge!

However, years later, while chopping wood, an extraordinary man comes to James’ rescue with a magical potion, promising to bring James many wonderful things. Unfortunately James falls, losing the only means to freedom. However, unbeknown to James, freedom is still awaiting him as the once barren tree produces a peach twice the size of the tree.

James soon meets many insect friends such as Miss Spider, earthworm, Mrs. Ladybird and others. The centipede helps to finally bring their journey across the sea to Central Park, New York. From here the performance begins as James relates his travels with just a bit of humor.

Tickets are priced at R60.00 per person. The show runs from 29 February to 29 March.
