Best maybe is to just blame it on the Afrikaners....seems that's the easiest way and most non-Afrikaans speaking people do it anyway.(I'm an Afrikaner so not sure who I can blame it on ;-)
Seriously - I just tell them 'Ignorance knows no skin colour' that usually makes them think.
