Question

Is there a South African Breakfast dish which is pronounced something like "Brindle" or "Bringle"?

If so, could you please tell me what it is and what it's proper spelling is?

I am doing a web page for Lindsey Haun, the Disney Channel actress who played Mahree Bok in The Color of Friendship. In one scene, she requests a breakfast of "Rusks, Breakfast Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, and Brindle." I have not been able to find a spelling or definition of brindle.

For reference, the site is

Thanks :-)

Re: Breakfast Items

The closest thing I can think of would be a brinjal (eggplant) but I didn't really think of it as a breakfast food.

Wink

Thanks,

That's the best possibility I've heard yet. I wonder if a young lady (aged 15) living in the late 70's might not have eaten such a thing with her breakfast.

G.
