Cool

Considering the many different cultures in SA, what would u consider to be the national dish. I once went to a dinner party, where we each brought a national dish from their country. I knew I had to take pap, but with what. I finally decided on a Fish curry dish. Too bad the Canadians couldn't stand the heat....

I think our national food may be as diverse as the origins of the our people.

But to name a few: pap & vleis; marog; waterblommetjiebredie; curry & rice; mopanie wurms and, and, en, en, ...............

I've never had waterblommetjiebredie - not from the Cape! And although I've had the chance to eat mopanie worms I just couldn't bring myself to do it! Blergh!!

Liza,

Nou gaan die puriste my afslag.

Amper dieselfde ding.

Dit klink soos wat my ouma groenbootjies maak. Njammie!!
Jinne, grom my maag nou!
(lek my lippe af!)
