Exclamation

"Can't we all just get along?"
I love my country just as I know you all do and I also know that we are a tolerant people who have gone through some rough and horrible times. This is the time to work toward avoiding things/language that will take us back where we just managed to come out.

Thumbs up

Hi All

I think the difference between a tolerable post an a non-tolerable post is:
1. We cannot argue on non-proven topics. i.e. Religion, we know ourselves that we will never give up our religions. So it’s pointless still trying to argue about it.
2. The argument cannot be directed towards an individual on the board. i.e I sometimes find that we go too far about Fred. We must bear in mind that Fred is bitterly upset with his country and how the people are treating him. For him, he’s way of restoring pride is to educate us of the true situation that he has to confront everyday.
3. We cannot argue on what is irreversible. i.e. skin colour. In the same way, we should not ‘stamp’ a person from hes/her place of birth, skin colour, family name, etc
4. What is important to bear in mind, that in a discussion group, we are here to hear our rational thoughts. It’s very easy to bring our emotional feelings into a discussion. i.e. do not try to say something with-out a back up statement . Put yourself in the shoes of others and do not bring childhood/family feelings into the discussion
5. Before typing a post, first get more information on the topic. i.e. base discussions on facts
6. And lastly: EDUCATE YOURSELF. Education is the true way to find a conclusion. Watch the news often, read newspapers, learn new and interesting information. Base facts of read material and after typing a post/reply, read the post/reply in the view of the person addressed. And think to yourself what are the persons arguments.

If you have more guide-lines, please tell me

Greetings from this side of the Atlantic!

One rule should apply to all who post messages here, think before writing.
This rule is, unfortunately, applied more sparingly in some cases rather than in others.
