I'm starting to suspect that I may have long-lost cousins in SA, based on the revelation to me that over 90% of the Jews down there have their roots in the Baltic (Latvia, Lithuania), which is where my roots are. I'm still trying to trace my roots in the old country, but in the meantime... does anyone know of anyone from the Polowsky, Herzberg, or Shames families of Lithuania/Latvia, who might - by some stroke of luck - have a pretty good grip on those ancestries?

Many thanks,
