Following the dream ...
Hello. New to this forum. I'm an American, my husband British, living in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. (56 and 59 yrs) We have just put our house on the market with the intent of moving to Free State to start a full-time sheep farm in partnership with a SA family. Living in Africa and farming full time have been my husband's dream since he was a little boy in New Zealand. I'm searching for any and all advice on moving to SA, good and bad. We are working with an immigration service to guide us through the paperwork. We've rented a house in Vredefort for 6 months. I'm hoping that will give us time to get a true feel for living there and a chance to see what's available as far as farm land, etc. Any input welcome!
