thank YOU for clarifying your own point. what you just wrote and the topic of the thread are not the same thing. you made no mention of education in your initial statement. i don't think i'm the one that is confused. but you've mended your own error so let's move on.
1. as a nation our elementary and secondary education system is in a sad state. we are far behind europe and africa when it comes to preparing young people for the world. i have no qualms about admitting that
2. but when it comes to higher education (everything after matric), there are thousands of comparable if not exceedingly excellent universities that people of all colors attend. unfortunately, the quality of education depends solely on an individuals ability to pay.
3. my only question of your argument is how you measure intelligence. i know many people with doctorates who are unintelligent. is education the measure of how smart someone is or how good they are in a school situation?

bottom line: south africans as a whole are not more intelligent than american blacks as a whole. just as the reverse is true.

-you made a comment about me taking my hatred elsewhere. if you are black, what kind of message are you getting across by calling anyone in the global black community stupid and inbred. i'm sure you don't care but that was a very painful thing to read. that is like tearing someone's skin back and sprinkling salt on the wound. now tell me what is hateful?

doesn't say "AA's on this site are stupid" it says "all AA's ON AVERAGE are unintelligent"

on ME, how is it that i am the one getting personal?
think for a minute what your response would be if
someone told you that the single most painful event
in your culture's history was YOUR fault and spoke
about something like 400 years of slavery and it's
after effects as if it were just a process for weeding
out the undesirables.

Hello friends! I am an African American and I am proud to be just that. I do not agree with you on the fact that most of us here in America are dumb because we are descendents from dumb Africans. It is true that I don't have a degree, but I am currently working on a degree in electronic engineering.I play the tuba,trumpet,saxophone,trombone,and piano.I study the martial arts and speak four different languages including isizulu, isixhosa, cantonese,and spanish.I'm now working as an electrician for the best navy in the world.I didn't say those thing to brag on myself but to say that we are not dummies,infact I think we are getting smarter because just looking at where my ancester start from to where we are now it's nothing less than a excellence. I have never been to Africa but I am completely in love with it. As an African American I am not mad at the comment, because you are not the only person that think that way. Many people think that we have it easy in America,but as Black American we have came along way and have broken down many obsticle and by the looks of it we have alot more to do.

hello everyone. i have a few things to elaborate to doccy:

like someone has already pointed out, having a phd is not necessarily a reflection of intellingence. secondly, the reason south african blacks have achieved so much is clearly due to the fact that they are the majority in this country, which is obviously not the case in your country.
