Thumbs down Black SA's and African Americans

Wow! I am an AA Male and a College Student working a rather menial Job to Pay my way through School. What's interesting to me about this topic is that it smarts of the psychological damage that colonialism has wrought on all of us. I am not a racist. I don't hate any race. However, we all must be blind if we don't see that the dominant race has never had any intention of sharing anything with us, Nor does he care more for some of us over others. We, American Blacks, are your siblings. As anyone of African decent is wherever we may be scattered throughout the globe. No other race competes against itself to this degree. Many American Blacks are hopeless cases, too much psychological damage to be overcome. But You overzealous SA's forget that the only reason that we are here and you are not is that we lived closer to the beaches. You never hear of Latins condecending to Latin less fortunates abroad. They have the silent understanding that that would be imprudent and they understand that the dominant culture would use that cleavage to it's advantage. However,Stupidly, we have been divided so well that we have suppressed this fundamental faculty that is so necessary to a people's survival to a point where this is what we talk about over the internet in 2003. Shame on us all. Capitalism has made life on earth a competition. We are GOING OUT OF BUSINESS as a people if we do not unite.
Sorry.

In the body of blackness if one limb or one digit is ill it is to the detriment of the whole body if it is not healed.
I love u all.

Doccy, I have to disagree. Is there any shred of scientific data that proves your statement that African Americans are not as interlligent as Southern Africans?
These doctorate degrees, were they earned at the University of Moscow by chance? Anyone that still beleives in communism cannot be too terrible intelligent.

There is also a difference between working your arse off at University for a doctorate and getting one from a prestigous university for just being an outspoken politician.

The last intelligent person to take a seat in SA's government was Nelson Mandela. After him, everything went for a load of crap (IMHO).

The only person in SA that deserves a Nobel prize is Tutu, since he is the only high profile person in the country that hasn't been involved in some scandal or the other. Otherwise, the Nobel prizes are hyped up popularity awards.

Berou,
I am sorry that you feel this way. It is after all white capitalists with their sanctions against SA that forced SA to get rid of Apartheid. It is also white capitalists that fought the first and second world war (Granted, there were a few Black squadrons). The second world war nearly engulfed Africa as well. The Italians came as far as Ethiopia. Had Hitler won, can you Imagine what he would have done to the black Africans? Oh by the way, white africans also fought against Hitler and South Africans fought especially hard to stem the flow of his Italian allies to the rest of Africa.
If this world should ever come to war because Blacks STILL feel cheated, it would be sad day. It's been 10 years in SA, almost 100 in the US - don't you think it's time to start thinking along the lines of "Work to get out of the hole we are in instead of blaming it on whites"?

Guys,be carefull not to stereotype all African-Americans because of a few idiots.

People say the same thing about other races whether they are Afrikaners or 'black South Africans'.Surely we as South Africans should have progressed a little even in 10 years time.

Don't get me wrong.I met lots of idiots on web forums that call themselves 'African-Americans.If they only knew what big injustice they do to their own people with their ignorant narrow minded comments.

If someone can debate then great, but some of them talk out of their ass about South Africa. They got some twisted idea or conspiracy about our country. All I can say is why waste time of these idiots? On a lighter note you can only laugh at their comments actually.

I unfortunately had bad experiences with African-Americans when I travelled through America. That's just because of what they knew about me.Absolutely Nothing.Ignorance as some of you might know is quite prevailent in the US.

Yes,To them I was the 'bad, baby eating Afrikaner'.Literally.

Of course I only bothered with those willing to listen and get to know me.

Some of these ignorance they display is the same as what whites display on 'blacks'.It's fear of the things they don't understand. In my case as much as I love my language it's a huge set back to get to know someone.Especially if they dont know your language.

Know someone's language and you understand those people's
history,food,humour,love and of course,fear.

I knew there was good African-Americans.Same as there are good Afrikaners.I just had to find them.

What's the difference?

The difference is to make an effort.Keep an open mind.By doing that you are bound to meet good people of different nationalities.

Life is a hell of journey to broaden our minds. As soon as you open that mind you'll be surprised the people you meet and the friends you make. You'll even surprise yourself in more ways than one.

I can honestly say I met some of the best people to be African-American.One of my best friends are African-American.If anything goes wrong in my life I know she'll be someone I can count on.She intelligent, great humour, beautiful and most of all a friend I would not swap for a $million dollars.

If it wasn't for people like this I cannot see hope for us.It makes life a big adventure, and the fun part is not knowing what person you are going to meet around the next corner.

As humans we are so unique. We're different in more ways than one even if we are fom the same group.

All we need to do is extend our hand of friendship to see who reaches back.

Screw those who don't take your hand. Why waste you time on them.Good luck.
