For those who want to know about other cultures in South Africa nand other parts of the continent. I know I would like to know more about other clans, tribes and languages in the beautiful country that is SA.

The last paragraph should be noted, as it has always been said before, a woman in Zulu culture holds a dear place as it was a woman who kept the Zulu nation together...infact it was a woman who begot isizwe samaZulu (the Zulu nation.

uMthaniya was King Jama kaZulu's wife, she is the mother of iNkosi uSenzangakhona kaJama. When Jama was to find a wife to bear the heir to the Zulu throne, he looked at the nations that were north of the Zulu tribe, what is now Mozambique.

This was seen as "inappropriate" by the nation especially Jama's daughter, uMkabayi. Although Jama did take the wife she was not to bear the heir, not if Mkabayi had something to do with it. She set about to find a wife for Jama and chose intombi yakwaSibiya (a maiden from the Sibiya clan), her name was Mthaniya (uMthaniya).

uMthaniya is seen as the mother of the Zulu nation, as through her, the nation stayed together and did not fall into the hands of a non-Nguni tribe.

Colours and Symbols of Bead Tie for Zulus
(the tie in the left frame)
* The triangle in Zulu art is based on Nguni ancient ethical code of UBUNTU.
Ubuntu is a conceptual belief in ethical living. That is: A person has to live all ones life within a perceptive perimeter of ethical code of conduct which would be accepted by "God"; whereby intellectual, material and spiritual interests as antithetical forces shall find their final everlasting reconciliation for posterity.
* Zulus are the custodian of Nguni ethics.
An insight into this life about life in all its forms is of course a very fundamental part of the 'Christian Religion', whose centre is a 'coincidental oppositorium', a meeting place of opposite, the Trinity.
* Triangle in Zulu means "unity in tenacity of purpose".
* Black resembles people.
* Blue is environment ipsofacto wealth.
* Red is service and secrifice for posterity.
* White is triumph.

Who Are Zulus and the Zulu Nation?

In Nguni version the word Zulu means Heaven, Haven etc. The Ngunis in Southern Africa have always believed in God as the Power of creation and Heaven as God´s place ipsofacto they yield to none in respect for Heaven. In the course of human development they had to pray to God for a right to name one of their children by His place namely; Zulu. It took the Ngunis three (300) hundred years fasting and praying for this name and finally their prayers were accepted and they named a baby boy Zulu. Since then there is no other child who was named by the name Zulu in Nguni society. This child grew up and became the King of one of the Nguni clans or tribes and his descendants became Zulu as surname. Centuries later King Senzangakhona ka Jama, the direct descendant of King Zulu begot Shaka through Princess Nandi nee´ Mhlongo of eLangeni.
King Shaka galvanized three hundred and sixty five (365) different ethnical groups i.e. Nguni and Suthu (BaSotho) tribes into one nation. The Nguni language since then became Zulu and subsequently the country was named KwaZulu.
In Zulu; ethically the land belongs to women; hence KwaZulus is passionately called `elika-Mthaniya´ the country of uMthaniya.uMthaniya was the paternal grandmother of His Majesty King Shaka. There were times in the days of Zulu Kingdom when KwaZulu was indeed an economical haven.

Magalela....Hhaw' walibeka nali isiko! Very good. People will begin to have a better understanding of the mighty Zulu nation.
Ibj...thankyou for your input but I'm get very sensitive when people still refer Gauteng as Transvaal or what is now called Mpumalanga.

Sorry. I viewed Mapumalanga and Gauteng as Transvaal provinces, but not as Afrikaner only provinces. There is no provine that follows the borders of Leboa, so I had to use a general term to descbe the provinces it covers.

I missed one:
Ndebele = Are just north of Pretoria/Tshawane.

I want KwaZulu/Natal to be renamed KwaZulu. I want it exanded into Mpumalang just slighlty, and I want Swai land calims in far far north KwaZulu to be granted.
I want a second higher chamber in the KwaZulu/Natal government structure for the Trdaitional Leaders, rather liek Britian's House of Lords.
