Shaka Zulu

Hi guys
I am a guest from uganda and i am a writter. I am currently working on a play about war called 'The Heart of War' using the historical setting of South Africa and the historical character of Shaka and those who lived with him durring the mfecane. The play is sincerly speaking about my views on war and not an attempt to resurect the historcial Shaka. However my aim is to make it as accurate as ti can be.

The reason why i joined this forum is because i want help on some issues.
1. What affectinate name did Nandi use for calling Shaka?
2. What is the symbolic title the Zulus use for referring to Shaka for instance as the ethopians call Ras Tafari the Lion of the tribe of Judah?
3. I intend to use a fictitious coloured to do the part of airing out my views; does anyone know of any coloured who was close to Shaka?
4. How would a Zulu affectionately refer to a coloured and the khoikhoi or san?

Thank you guys in advance for the help rendered to me.

Unhappy sorry

hi ugandan,

i'm sorry that nodobdy has been able to help you yet. there are some zulu-speakers who occasionally visit this board. perhaps when they next visit, they will spot your questions and be able to answer.

Try asking at the forum on this site: http://isizulu.net/

Look at the top of the page, and follow the link to "Forum". Plenty of Zulu speakers, (and a very useful resource anyway) who will try and help you out.

Years ago I remember watching the movie 'Shaka Zulu' . I'm going to watch it again pretty soon, this time with an eye for any historical clue to the time.

If you've seen the movie and has some historical perspective, please offer some tips.
