I think it's a little ridiculous to have a black history month or a white history month or any sort of month.
I think if you're going to claim a month is dedicated to history, it should be like a multicultural caravann history event where all different cultures represent their history and their culture to all others in a mutually respectful way. Going ahead and claiming that February is black history month strikes me as a little odd. It's not like there's a white history month, that would be called racism. Some people claim that there is no real "white" cluture because there is such a difference in culture with different groups of whites. I think this is BS though, becuase there is certainly a broad spectrum of black cultures and different groups and tribes. I don't think black history month promotes diversity, it works against it. |

Well, just like you dont think its right for us to have a month to celebrate black history, we dont think its right that your people write history books that leave us out!! We use febuary because there is nothing going on that month and white folks cant celebrate somthing else and draw attention away from our holiday. We dont need to celebrate other cultures because we arent other cultures, we need to celebrate our own. Another thing, you dont need to speak for black people unless you are black. White people have dictated to us long enough how our lives should be led and we control them ourselves now.
