With your Spanish knowledge it shouldn't be difficult to learn Zulu pronounciation, but I think you'd be better of asking uBoyabenyathi about it. Since I have to stick to the explanations in my language course book, I most probably don't pronounce everything correctly.

I don't know if the forum on Ntomb'khona is still up for discussion. Incidentally my name is Khona Dlamini, so she stole my name and my surname!!

Anyway if people still need help with pronounciation I can help as well as possible through a computer...

Is your name Ntomb'khona or just Khona? I heard the name Ntomb'khona Dlamini from the play Sarafina! and she has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard! I would love for you to teach me the basics of the Zulu language...thanks!

Who was that girl?? I haven't noticed it in the movie... But she had a role in the movie or she sang a song in the movie but wasn't part of the cast?
However I love Zulu! I'd really like to learn it someday I'll learn it for sure in the future...

Ntomb'khona Dlamini was in thee Broadway version of Sarafina! before it was a movie. She sang solo parts in songs like "The Lord's Prayer", "Give us Power", and "Mama". "Mama" is a really good song. I recently purchased the Broadway cast recording of Sarafina! on CD and it's great. I have the documentary Voices of Sarafina! and you can hear Ntomb'khona Dlamini sing on "Mama." When I heard her, I could really feel her and it made my skin crawl. She can really sing and she has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. Does anyone know her or have heard of her?

Hey guys,long timeno see!
Ninjani nonkenina enilapha? ( How are you allon this site?)
I see an interest in the cast of Sarafina. Most have relocated to South Africa(no place like home!) although some of them did remain in the US after the broadway hit.Mbongeni Ngema(Sarafina's playwright) is defenately in South Africa at this point.I know of a Nhlanhla Ngema who was in NY couple of years ago but went back and got married in SA. The other cast members I do not know.

Just for curiousity, are there any Zulu speakingindividuals out here?
