Talking

Hello and Greetings from Ireland!
We finally managed to beat the South Africans yesterday at home in rugby. A well contested match! 17-13. It was great considering that the Springboks thrashed us during the Irish tour in South Africa.
I know this girl who is from South Africa and she is living here in Ireland. I really fancy her!!!!! I was hoping to really impress her with a text message translated from English to Afrikaans. I would be grateful if anyone would translate the following few words from English to Afrikaans:

Have a great week! Hope to see you soon.

Thank you very much,
Cheers,
Michael.

Hope it helps.

Regards

Vertaalings

Konsalik

Is ek weer in xxxstraat?

How about:

Groete bokkie! Gee my 'n geleentheid en ek sal jou beter laat voel!

Um, the score was 12-17, wasn't it? How about "dat my span gewen het was net geluk gewees" No, just kidding! That said "my team winning was just luck". Very bad sportsmanship from me, I know. Good on you guys for beating the bokke. I think out heads were getting a little big anyhow.

Asseblief moenie so voel nie.
As ek baasspelerig is waneer dit by die taal-bord kom vra ek verskoning.

Liza

Sincere thanks to Konsalik, Moonwalker, Ches, and Liza. I am very grateful to you all for being so helpful and gracious.

Sincere thanks!

Afrikaans is a language I do intend to learn. I like to think that while it is a distict language, I might be able to also understand Dutch. An advantage for trying to learn the language.

Enough about the rugby, eh?!! ;-)

While reading the threads, I could'nt help but get the distict impression of how helpful you all are to those seeking translations or seeking information on various aspects of South African culture.

You are all outstanding Ambassadors for your South Africa.

Thanks again,
Michael.

It's a pleasure Michael. If things work out with this girl, we are here to translate if you need it.
