Hi, My name is Ernesto Ríos Solís, I'm from México. I'm a member of "Máscaras, Capas & Truzas" (http://mcyt.8k.com), a radio program where we talk about comic books.

Here in México, we have notices frequently about US Comics, European Comics and Japanese Comics (Manga)... but, what about African comic?.

We never heard about the comic books or comic strips from Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, etc.

So, I ask your help to get that information. I hope you can help me.
Thanks Beforehand.

Ernesto Ríos.

African Comic Strips

Hi Ernesto there are quite a few African comic strips. Two quickly come to mind: "Madam and Eve", (South Africa), and "The Shikwekwes", (Kenya). Please visit their websites at the following links:

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Joel

Actualy i had to come back and edit my post...

Guys and girls, this is well worth having a flick through and a read.. its quite funny, but allways with a point driven home..

The Phantom and Mandrake

Hi for everyone,

I am searching for informations about The Phantom and Mandrake publications.

Does anyone know something more about African issues?

Is it Mandrake published in some magazine in South Africa in 1968-1969?

We know this for Africa:

The Phantom and Mandrake - Angola (on Portuguese in comic book)
The Phantom - Egypt (on Arabic in comic book)
The Phantom - Kenya (on English in newspapers and magazine)
The Phantom - Tunisia (on French in newspapers)

Do you know something more? It seems that no one from these countries don't intersted in make some parallel list vs original comics.
