He suffered under apartheid, and of all the people, he should have some idea of the people suffering under Saddam Hussein. He very conveniently forgot the suffering people.

Have you chosen to ignore the suffering of the Iraqi people subsequent to the US invasion? Where women once could walk around without an abaya or head scarf and hold jobs and pursue PhD degrees, now they're afraid to leave the house for fear of being raped. Who knows what their lot will be if a theocracy comes to power. I do not deny that Saddam Hussein is a horrible man; I do not deny that living under a totalitarian regime is unpleasant (don't forget I grew up under one); but do not blindly assume that the chosen way is beyond criticism.

The US invasion of Iraq has left a lot to be desired; George W. Bush is very easy to criticise. To blindly follow a leader because he shares your religious beliefs (in word, though not in deed, to be sure) is folly. Do not presume to have the slightest comprehension of Nelson Mandela's suffering under apartheid. Do not forget that he never condoned Hussein.
