George is a picture card town at the base of the Outeniqua Mountains. I'm sure you'd be more than happy there and your wife has no doubt told you about George already.

How the country is going to end up?

Well that's anybodies guess, and the future is certainly far riskier than say Canada or Oz. However drawing comparisons btw Zim and SA should not be done lightly. While both countries share the racially skewed distribution of land problem, the two countries have foundations.

Unlike Zim, SA is addressing its land problem, it is a multiparty democracy, although with a somewhat ineffective opposition.

I advise you to see the country for yourself before deciding, and to take what you hear from expats with a pinch of salts. Many are bitter old racists with nothing good to say about the country (although we have huge probs).

Hi,

We just moved a few months ago to JHB. We enjoy each second. I am sure you will enjoy it as well. Concerning your child I dont think that you will make something wrong. To grow up in a country with nature and Wildlife what else could be better for it?!

Come and try to spend a few weeks before you decide. Look at the places where you could settle. Look for properties, neighborhood etc. Find a place where you think it is the best for you.

Take care and good luck,

Didem

Thumbs up Moving to South Africa

Hi Barrett!

we just read your mail. Your mail is dated quite a while back but thought we would reply anyhow. We have friends in South Africa who would like to sell their properties. They are situated in Knysna, an hour away from George. If you the area you will know that it is one of the safest areas in South Africa. Both houses overlook the ocean. In a short walk you are on the golf course. If you would like further information about the area, price and pictures please contact Julie on julesatie@hotmail.com this adress or me, Ilona, on ilonajiver@yahoo.de.

Looking forwarding to hearing from you!

Ilona and Julie
