My wife and I are thinking to move back to South Africa. My wife is South African, and I am an American. We presently live in Kuwait. We have our own furniture and appliances, and our own 4x4 which we would like to ship back to South Africa. However, we do not know if the importation taxes on the furniture and appliances is going to be too expensive. And, we do not know if a LEFT hand driven car is allowed in the country. Would someone please give us some assistance?

tried my best
We do have right-hand drives here.
For the tax info, maybe you should ask someone more professional. http://www.tax.co.za/contact.html

Oops I guess I also meant LH drives too then...
We have both kinds anyway. But if it's a 4x4 you'll need someone to test drive it for you to make sure that it can handle the same rugged conditions in a markedly different ummm climate. So you'll have to hand it over to me for say a day or two and I'll be happy to check it out for you. I wont charge much and only pick up >10 girls. Promise.
