Hi Sean
My family and I have lived in CT for nearly two years as a result of a work secondment. On that basis getting in to the country was fairly easy as they give you a temp residence permit if you qualify for a work visa. This is renewd anually. If you dont have work then it is a different ballgame and you may require some help. The best site I have found is; http://www.jireimmigrations.co.za We are now applying for permanent residency as we do not want to leave yet. It is quite lengthy but seems possible. Lifestlye and standard of living is very good here but the salaries are much lower so it seems to even itself out. Property prices are very good still but are on the rise as more Europeans buy holiday homes over here and drive up the prices. It is a great place for kids - we have a 17 month old son and another on the way. Schools seem to be of a reasonable quality and are not too pricey. The main benefit to us is the outdood lifestyle and the beautiful surroundings - sea and mountains etc. I wish you luck. Peter |
