Hi there,
I could give you a small idea of what S.A is like. However you need to make the experience yourself as its not the same for everyone and also checking it out while on holiday is different to living there.
I was born and bred in Cape Town.Yes there is crime in South Africa just like in other countries, education is now becoming a major factor in most peoples lives as before they never had the opportunities to be educated in the manner they wanted.Yes there are still people without homes, people who are unemployed as well but that one gets all over.In some cities its more extreme than in others. However, South Africa is extremely beautiful, the educational facilities, job opportunities, night life, entertainment can be compared with most major cities in the world. And above all the people are warm and welcoming.I find myself living in Germany as my husband is from here but also because I teach English/Communication and from what my in laws and friends from here tell me, they were more than taken aback at their positive experiences in S.A.Of course we do plan to go back there in a few years
I tell everyone the good and the bad but at the end of the day you have to decide for yourself, whether there can be a sense of home for you.
