I'm an American citizen moving out to S.A. in April/May. I would like any advice from anyone who's made a similar (international) move, as well as any helpful advice to make my move smooth. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking forward to calling S.A. home.

Hi from RSA

You have made a good decision to move here.
I can assure you you will have an adventurous and never-forgetting experience.
However, it depends on where you will be located.
I will be glad to supply specific info:

Thanks for all the replies. There is no question S.A. is a beautiful country. I can't wait to move. I was just there for the holidays. I stayed mostly in & around Cape Town. I had the best time. I'm working on trying to gain permanent residency, as well as look for work. Let me know if you have anymore great info.

Cheers,
Bev

Don't let any of the propaganda put you off about how unsafe we are at the moment. The problems we have here are no different to any other country. If you practise being alert and aware and take logical precautions it's unlikely any harm will come to you.
