There seems to be a misconception as to who should be called 'n boer....in my experiece it seems to have 'n double meaning in SA
Yes, it means farmer..but most Afrikaners, like myself is quite content to be called 'n boer

But in Holland it seems to have a derogatory meaning, and if used in that context could be quite hurtfull
