Karagatho,

Its a good example of blind faith, its just that some of us like to take initiative in our lives.

When you hit the bottom, and life sux and it seems that everything that can go wrong does go wrong.. you think there is no way out of this mess, and your heart hurts, and your mind is swimming with negative thoughts, what do you do? Do you turn to prayer and God because you are lost and you want to be found...? Do you think that you dont have it in your power to get yourself out of the mess your in.

When I have the same type of situation, I sit there and rationalise, I think about what I have to do, I think of the changes I have to make in my life, to get myself back on top and where I want to be.

Its not easy, because I know the truth of the matter is, its all up me, but when you realise that and accept that fact, then you have allready got the ball rolling. My family can support me, my friends can be there for me... but If i want to get over a depression or something, then I have to just accept the situation I am in, and work forwards from there, untill I bring myself through it.

But then again, If you KNOW that God exists, and you KNOW that it is he who got you where you are today, and that works for you, then cool...

Arrow Thats not quite it

You obviously have the opinion that christians will just sit there and say "God will provide" ,If I was God ,I'd
lob a lightning bolt or two at anybody with that sort of attitude I can tell you!
No, when you hit the bottom, and I've been there by the way
Jobless ,and money running out fast!
I finally landed a Job on the Last month I would still
have money! I was paying my brother House off, like I said.
You've got to find a job! get out there and search, fix
your life! although ,really , once I've sorted my life out I do suffer from a lack of progress in my employment
(And not due to effort,In my previous job I was employee
Numero Uno every month) urp! going off topic ...er...

There are certainly christians who do just that! (the old Faith healing stories and such?) but I know God does not
like lasyness (which I am guilty of every so often ,in
programming thats actually more often than is comfortable)
so No! we also take initiative and make a plan just as much
as anybody else!

So really God is like an added extra, and with all those things that happened in my life the way they did, its
an added extra I can't do without.
By the way my next 'fantasy' is for my whole family
to make a sucessful business and all live near each other!
Lets see what happens now......

Okay, .. : -) so you agree that you have to make an effort yourself to get anywhere in life, and that the more effort you put in the more you get out.

Sometimes you can put all your efforts into something and still get skrewed.. thats just life.

So the faith in God, is more or less like a little added extra comfort and feeling of security that you just cant do with out...

I would say that because you have faith in God, because you know that he will help you along your path, you will have less negative thoughts to hold you back from what ever it is you choose to venture after. Because you know God to be behind you backing you all the way.. you have less fear at failing.. if you have no negative thoughts to hold you back, and you have no fear to get in the way of your ambitions, then you are already moving in the right direction and have more chance then succeeding, then a person who is full of doubt and worry.

So even if God doesnt exist.. I guess you have nothing to loose, because your belief puts you in the right frame of mind to chase your dreams.

So in my opinion there is nothing wrong with how you live your life, and I wouldnt judge you anyway, but I just see things differently, my aim would be to put myself in the same frame of mind free of negativity and fear, looking and beleiving that I will attain what i set out for, without the need to believe in something outside myself for intervention on my behalf.

And you know what, if I fail, tough... thats how it goes,as long as you put in your best effort.
