Question A what now?

Shundra,

Moving to South Africa is not something you can pick up at Wal-Mart. It's good you have an internet connection, because you can look up the website South African Department of Home Affairs, which will inform you of the immigration rules and regulations. It is possibly as difficult to immigrate to South Africa as it is to immigrate to the US. The rules governing who may immigrate are probably stricter, but the bureaucracy involved in the move is much smoother. (South Africans reading this will probably find this statement ironic, especially if they've stood in line for their new drivers' license.)

The web address, which I found on google, is posted in several other threads on the Moving board. There is a lot of advice there given to others who want to move to South Africa, and there's no reason to duplicate it here.

If you want to tell us more about yourself, we can certainly give you specific advice. However, the only response to your general inquiry is that you need to check out the Home Affairs website.

In response to your question in another thread about transfering your license -- you don't need a license to be a hair dresser in South Africa.

Good luck,
Ches
