Soccer in South Africa is extremely comptetitive. If you're looking to play professional soccer, you might consider the United Arab Emirates. I was there for two months and the hotel I stayed in in Abu Dhabi backed onto the soccer stadium. The level was somewhat lower than South African soccer (i.e. older SA players were playing there), but it's a well-paying gig.
