Taipei Liaison Office in South Africa

Whether you’re looking for information about coming to South Africa or going to Taipei, the Taipei Liaison Office is the place to go. There are two different offices in South Africa. The first is in Cape Town in the Main Tower of the Standard bank Centre. The second is in Rennies House in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. Both are equally informative and will provide you with all the information you need pertaining to travel to and from Taipei. And, if you want to stay on the right side of the law, they have exactly the sort of helpful information you’ll need.

As a South African visiting Taipei, there are a number of different visas that you may want to research before deciding which will be most appropriate for you. Firstly, any planned stay in the country that lasts fourteen days or less does not require any visa. However, you cannot extend your stay if you do not have a visa and the authorities will enforce this law strictly by deporting you. Another visa that you can get is called a Landing Visa which is valid for a period of one month after landing. It works in conjunction with the traveller’s valid passport and ensures that you have a return ticket waiting for you within one month of arrival. A Visitor Visa can be used for anywhere between sixty days and six months while a Resident Visa can be applied for after three months of living in Taipei on a Visitor Visa. It should be noted that the vast majority of visa’s need to be issued in the country of origin at facilities such as the Taipei Liaison Office so you need to be informed and up-to-date with your paperwork long before you think of leaving the country. It is also wise to note that not all visa’s can be extended and if you should stay longer than the permitted period, you will be asked to leave the country.

Taipei is a popular student destination as it is relatively easy to get around and it is also a great place to go if you want to learn Chinese. You should be aware that besides getting your visa sorted out you will need a few other items such as a return flight ticket and a certain amount of money in your bank account before you set off for distant shores. So contact the Taipei Liaison Office to find out more.
